Businesswise Solutions recognised with People and Skills Award.

Businesswise Solutions (BWS) has won the People and Skills Award at the Northern Automotive Alliance (NAA) annual business awards, which were held on 21st September, 2023, at The Mere Golf Resort & Spa, Knutsford.

The Blair Project sponsored the People and Skills category, which recognises a business’ investment in its employees training and development, and how this investment in skills can bring benefits to people and businesses alike.

The calibre of businesses nominated for this category was impressive, with CoolKit, Melling Performance Springs, and MGS Technical Plastics, all of which are dedicated to supporting and training their people, also nominated alongside BWS.

In spite of the strong competition, we won the judges over with three key factors we work by:

Our recruitment and selection process. We put our energy into finding people with the right attitude and work ethic, rather than solely focusing on relevant industry experience. This means our leadership and development programmes are important for the success of our people and the business.

Our people and skills strategy. We tailor training and development to the needs of each individual, giving them the best opportunity to support the strategic goals of our business. This is achieved through seminars, online training courses, one to one sessions, and self governing development opportunities, all supported by management.

Our mission. Finding the right people and developing them throughout their careers at BWS, helps us fulfill our mission to help our client businesses reduce their carbon footprint and energy costs. Something we wouldn’t be able to do without the amazing people we have here at BWS.

Peter Catlow, our Sustainability Director, and Michele Martin, our Head of Customer Experience, attended the event, and a great time was had by all, made all the better with a win on the night. Peter commented:

BWS has been the energy partner to the NAA since 2019.

The NAA provides focused support for the Northern Automotive industry, through membership services combined with project management. Services range from strategic, business, and technical advice to the provision of training, funding application support, and sponsored awards. The NAA has circa 90 member companies from across the North of England.
